Chemistry Position
Davis & Elkins College, a private college in the liberal arts tradition, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Chemistry beginning in August 2023. While candidates with a minimum of an M.S. will be considered, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a related field is strongly preferred. The position is renewable upon satisfactory performance and rank is dependent upon qualifications. An affiliate of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and covenant partner with the Presbytery of West Virginia, the college is located in Elkins, WV. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach a total of 24 credit hours per academic year. The applicant should have the expertise to teach the following:
Introductory-level Chemistry with lab
Organic Chemistry I & II with lab.
Other potential teaching opportunities may include
Developing an undergraduate research project
Teaching Biochemistry lecture
Developing an Advanced Organic Chemistry course and lab
Other responsibilities include:
Advising students
Engagement in scholarship
Professional development
Committee service
Performance of related duties required to meet institutional needs.
