As the point person for the RightCycle program at the University of Pittsburgh Dietrich School Scientific Stockroom, Josh Jones was recognized for the Department of Chemistry's K-C nitrile glove recycling efforts. At the recycling center used products are processed into nitrile powder, then the material is molded into new eco-friendly plastic products. Since 2014 we have kept over 1/2 ton of gloves out of landfills. Josh received the Chelsea Santucci Greenovation Champion award from the RightCycle by KIMBERLY-CLARK PROFESSIONAL* The award was presented in May 2015. The Department of Chemistry also received a bench made of recycled laboratory garments.
