The American Chemical Society (ACS) Student Chapter in the Chemistry Department at the University of Pittsburgh, Oakland Campus, has been selected to receive a Commendable Award for its activities conducted during the 2017-2018 academic year. Of 400 chapters in consideration, 92 were selected for this award. Dr. George Bandik is the faculty advisor to the American Chemical Society Student group, and for each of the last 30 years this student group has been recognized by the National ACS. A list of the 2017-2018 award winning chapters will be published on the Student Communities website and in the Spring 2019 issue of "inChemistry" magazine and recognized at the ACS Student Chapter Award Ceremony that will be held at the 257th ACS National Meeting in Orlanda, FL.
