Position Description

The Department of Chemistry and Physics at West Virginia State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry in analytical chemistry. The Department is housed within the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and has three chemistry degree options, one of which is approved by the American Chemical Society. The candidate should have the ability to teach undergraduate courses in general chemistry, analytical and instrumental chemistry. The candidate is also expected to prepare external and internal grants, engage in research, participate in service activities, and advise students.

Requirements for the Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Candidates must hold a terminal degree in chemistry by the time of appointment. 

Salary Statement

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointment Status

This is a 9-month, full-time, benefit-eligible, tenure track Assistant Professor position.

Proposed Starting Date

The anticipated start date for this position will be at the beginning of the Fall 2021 semester.
