Research Chemist
Contractor at AFRL

Role and Responsibilities:
The candidate will serve as an onsite contractor working within the AFRL team on a range of synthetic, formulation, or materials chemistry projects focused on liquid crystalline materials. The primary focus of this candidate will be to extend and optimize chemistries reported by the Azimuth/AFRL team in recent publications including a highly visible paper in Science (
The candidate will support an ongoing, vibrant, and active research effort located at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate in the research group of Dr. Tim White. Working a unique opportunity to solve important, long term challenges that guide research efforts in an environment that strongly encourages collaboration (government/academic/industry), publication in top journals, and conference attendance.

Other Experience, Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements:

Discipline(s): Polymer chemistry, polymer science/engineering, materials science/engineering, chemical engineering, or related. Graduate research and post-doctoral training in the synthetic polymer chemistry, formulation, and liquid crystals is beneficial, but not required.
