We are seeking a Research and Development Laboratory Support Technologist to support efforts in chemical synthesis and scale up of organic and inorganic compounds for energy and nanomaterials applications.


On any given day, you will:

  • Work with staff members and postdoctoral researchers to plan and conduct chemical synthesis, analyze products using standard instruments, and record and interpret data.
  • Be responsible for various activities associated with maintaining a multiuser laboratory
  • Demonstrate expertise in all operational aspects of a chemistry laboratory and to consistently take initiative to improve safety conditions

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field
  • At least one college‐level course in organic chemistry or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with chemical synthesis


Qualifications We Desire:

  • Ability to document techniques and results with good attention to detail
  • Familiarity with basic analytical instruments (e.g. NMR, FTIR, GC‐MS)
  • Publications and/or patents
  • Experience maintaining laboratory operations and infrastructure
  • Ability to team across multiple subject areas
  • Ability to hold a DOE Q‐Level security clearance
