Postdoc Positions in Epps/Korley/Wagner Groups at University of Delaware

Dear POLY community,

I would like to advertise that the Epps, Korley, and Wagner groups have several new postdoctoral openings in biobased polymer coatings (one in polymer synthesis and one in coating characterization), fuel cell membranes (one in polymer synthesis and one in mechanical/transport characterization), and chemical recycling/upcycling of polymers. The positions are open immediately, but the start dates can be flexible between now and Fall. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.

For the biobased polymer coatings positions, the successful candidate will work closely between the Epps and Korley groups as part of the Center for Research in Soft matter and Polymers (CRiSP) and as part of the NSF GCR Materials Life-Cycle Management program at UD. This specific project is collaborative with the Chemical and Biological Center of the U.S. Army and allows the opportunity for both fundamental research and technology development depending on the interests of the candidate. Candidates interested in the biobased coatings synthesis and/or characterization positions can send a cover letter and CV (with names of 3 references) to Silia Kerasaridi (spyker@udel.edu) with 'Biobased Coating Postdoc' in email subject.

For the fuel cell membranes positions, the successful candidate will work closely between the Epps and (Norm) Wagner groups as part of CRiSP at UD. The specific project is collaborative with a local chemical company and allows the opportunity for both fundamental research and technology development depending on the interests of the candidate. Candidates interested in the fuel cell membrane synthesis and/or characterization positions can send a cover letter and CV (with names of 3 references) to Silia Kerasaridi (spyker@udel.edu) with 'Fuel Cell Postdoc' in email subject.

For the chemical/recycling upcycling position, the successful candidate will work closely between the Epps and Korley groups as part of the Center for Plastics Innovation – a DOE EFRC. The specific project focuses on the valorization of mixed polymer/plastics waste streams through catalytic deconstruction approaches. Candidates interested in the chemical recycling/upcycling positions can send a cover letter and CV (with names of 3 references) to Silia Kerasaridi (spyker@udel.edu) with 'Chemical Recycling/Upcycling Postdoc' in email subject.

The work location for all positions is at the University of Delaware and candidates will be affiliated with the Top-10-ranked Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department. A benefits package (including health and retirement) is provided for all postdoctoral researchers.

Sincerely,

Thomas Epps, LaShanda Korley, and Norm Wagner
