Full-Time Instructor (Non-Tenure Track) - CARLOW UNIVERSITY

Carlow University invites applications for a full-time instructor position (non-tenure track) in Chemistry and Physics.  The anticipated start date is August 15, 2022. The initial term of appointment is one year with possibility for renewal based on performance and the needs of the department.
A broad knowledge of chemistry and proficiency in a diverse array of laboratory skills is essential. The position entails teaching undergraduates in lecture and laboratory sections across the program curriculum possibly including general chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical principles, and physics.

We seek an innovative educator with the following qualifications:

  • Ph.D. (preferred) in Chemistry. M.S. degree in chemistry or a related discipline (minimum requirement).
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred, as well experience helping students transition to college-level coursework.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team and should have strong written and oral communication skills.

In addition, applicants should have experience working with diverse populations and be able to articulate how they will support Carlow University’s Catholic, Mercy mission and values through their teaching.
