THE AVERILL SCHOLARSHIP

The $1,000 scholarship goes to three outstanding sophomore chemistry majors. This year's recipient are JAIME L. BOZENTKA, ERIC A. HIGH and ANDREW S. PETIT.

THE VALSPAR AWARD

The Valspar Company of Pittsburgh presents the Valspar Award to two outstanding chemistry majors. The award consists of a summer internship at Valspar and a $2,000 scholarship for use during the student's junior or senior year of study here at the University of Pittsburgh. These Awards will be presented by Dr. Chuck Skillman of the Valspar Corporation. This year's recipients are CARL M. REAGLE, and RYAN J. WETTSTEIN.

THE ESTHER AND TOBIAS DUNKELBERGER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This $500 award is given by the Dunkelberger Family in honor of Esther and Tobias Dunkelberger. It is given to two chemistry majors who have excelled academically and been involved in departmental outreach programs. This year's recipients are MEREDITH R. MCDERMOTT and NEIL A. ROBERTSON.

THE ORGANIC DIVISION UNDERGRADUATE FELLOWSHIP AWARD

This award to support a summer undergraduate research student working with a member of our organic faculty is presented to MEREDITH R. MCDERMOTT.

THE NOVARTIS SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

This award to support undergraduate research is presented by the Novartis Corporation to an outstanding undergraduate researcher to be used for summer support. This year s recipient is CHRISTOPHER J. LAROCCA.

LILLY SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

This $5,000 award to support undergraduate research is presented by the Lilly Corporation to an outstanding undergraduate researcher. This year's recipient is JUSTIN M. CHALKER.

THE TEPLITZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Teplitz Scholarship, presented in honor of Abraham and Anna Teplitz-Horowitz, is given to a chemistry major who has demonstrated academic excellence and involvement within our undergraduate program. This $1,000 scholarship goes to JOSHUA W. ELDER.

THE LUBRIZOL SCHOLARSHIP

The Lubrizol Company presents a $1,000 dollar scholarship to two chemistry majors who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, leadership and involvement in the undergraduate program. The year we honor CHRISTOPHER J. LAROCCA and FRANCIS P. SANTOS.

THE RITA R. and DAVID A. ROSSI SCHOLARSHIP

This $1,000 scholarship, created by the late Mr. David Rossi in honor of his parents is presented to two chemistry majors who has demonstrated academic excellence. This year's recipient are ELIZABETH C. FIDLER and CRAIG K. KOZMINSKI.

THE RICHARD F. ZARILLA AWARD

This $500 award is presented to two Chemistry majors to provide educational needs to students who demonstrate academic excellence in Chemistry and involvement in our undergraduate program. This year's recipients are SAMUEL KIM and LAURA E. YOKOBOSKY.

THE MERCK AWARDS

Merck and Company presents to the senior pre-professional chemistry majors with the most outstanding records, a personal imprinted copy of the Merck Index which gives detailed information on over 10,000 chemicals, drugs and biologicals. This award goes to ANTHONY P. PETRUSO and RYAN N. SCHROEDER.

THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF CHEMISTS AWARD

A certificate of achievement, student membership in the American Institute of Chemists, and a subscription to the publication The Chemist go to a senior who, on the basis of a demonstrated record of leadership and scholastic achievement, has shown the potential for advancement of the chemical profession. This year's awardee is JOAN M. FLETCHER.

THE COLLEGE AWARD

The College Award is presented by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh to an outstanding senior chemistry major. This award includes a certificate of achievement, $300 in cash, the placement of the recipient's name on a plaque in the lobby of the Chevron Science Center, and $100 given to the Chemistry Library to purchase a book in honor of the awardee. SARAH C. BELL is this year's recipient.

THE MARY LOUISE THEODORE PRIZE

This $500 award is presented by Michael Theodore in memory of his deceased wife, a noted analytical chemist and educator. This year it is given to five senior chemistry majors who have excelled academically, been involved in our undergraduate program through research, teaching and volunteer service. Presented by Mr. Theodore, this year's recipients are RYAN J. GRAZIANI, JEREMY M. HIGGINS, ANDREA S. MATLA, KEVIN M. NOONE and APRIL M. WEIR.

THE PHILLIPS MEDAL

The Phillips Medal and a $500 award, the Department's highest award, honors Francis Clifford Phillips, the first chairman of the Department. It is presented annually to the senior chemistry major with the most outstanding record. This year's honoree is JAMES M. APGAR.
