During a typical academic term, an average of 42 undergraduates are participating in faculty-mentored research projects, ranging from pure synthesis, through methods development, to trace detection and high-resolution spectroscopic analyses. |

during the summer |>>The Chemistry Department has been hosting a NSF-funded REU program for 9 out of the 10 past years. While this program is primarilty designed for non-Pitt students, other Fellowship opportunities exists for fulltime Pitt undergraduates. |
