Falk Pharmacy Delivery is Here!
After over a year of negotiations, we have arranged for delivery to Chevron of prescription medications from Falk Pharmacy. The advantage of using Falk Pharmacy is that on our prescription medical plan it is possible to receive 3 months of a medication for the price of two months. The disadvantages are the long lines and slow service after going over there in the first place.

The Chemistry Department Safford Teaching Award program greatly expanded
The Chemistry Department, in further recognition of the importance of graduate teaching in the Department’s mission, has significantly expanded the scope of the Safford Award program. This is made possible by a generous contribution from the estate of Dr. J. Daniel Bode, a Ph. D. student of Professor Hurd Safford. As currently, there will be six awards given annually to outstanding graduate teaching assistants with the award increased to $500. In addition, we are pleased to announce a new program: The Excellence in Teaching Summer Fellowship. A fellowship for the summer semester will be awarded annually to a graduate student who has passed the comprehensive exam, and who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or intends to teach for a career. More details will be announced in November when the Mellon and GEF fellowships are announced. The application will consist of a statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation. Finally, the Department will award up to six grants of $250 for travel to chemical education meetings or workshops. Up to two grants will be awarded each term and the workshop or meeting that the grant funds must occur within the next six months. Applications will be accepted during the first week of each term and will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students can receive this award only one time.
