2009 Safford Award Winners Announced

The Department of Chemistry would like to congratulate the seven graduate students chosen to receive the 2009 Safford Award for Excellence as a Graduate Student Teacher and 2009 Safford Fellowship Award winners.

This graduate student award is named after Professor Emeritus, Hurd W. Safford.  For 50 years, Professor Safford served our Department in a variety of capacities:  graduate teaching assistant, professor, research director and administrative officer.  Throughout his long and distinguished career, Professor Safford was recognized as an excellent teacher and a champion of quality undergraduate education.
