Prof. David Waldeck will serve as the academic director of the Peterson Institute for NanoScience and Engineering (PINSE)

David Waldeck has agreed to serve as academic director of the Peterson Institute for NanoScience and Engineering (PINSE), effective April 1, 2015.   PINSE was established nine years ago and has served approximately 150 interdisciplinary research groups in the Swanson School of Engineering and the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.  Dr. Waldeck has participated in a strategic analysis of the Institute as a member of a recently established PINSE Executive Committee.  Over the past year, SSoE Associate Dean for Research Dr. David Vorp has served as interim academic director of PINSE. Dr. Waldeck will lead an expansion of the nanofabrication and characterization facility and develop stronger regional alliances and outreach to better serve current and new users in supporting high-quality nanoscience and engineering research and education.
