Dr. Xinyu Liu, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and member of the cancer immunology program at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI), was awarded a career development award from Melanoma & Skin Cancer SPORE, for his proposed research on the structural and functional study of glycosylation on antigenic proteoglycan related to melanoma pathogenesis. The overall goals of the Melanoma & Skin Cancer SPORE at UPCI are to improve the detection and treatment of skin cancer and the Career Development Program is set up to identify and attract research and physician scientists with demonstrated outstanding potential, to develop an independent career in translational research in the area of cutaneous oncology.
