Prof. Lillian Chong Awarded NIH R01 Grant

August 20, 2015 - 4:42am

Lillian Chong (PI) and her collaborators in the Department of Computational & Systems Biology, Daniel Zuckerman (PI) and James Faeder (Co-I), were awarded an NIH R01 grant for $1.3 million over 4 years for their proposal, "High-Performance Weighted Ensemble Software for Simulation of Complex Bio-Events". The award will support the continued development of advances in the open-source, highly scalable WESTPA software to enhance the power of simulations at any scale (e.g. atomistic, molecular, cellular). In addition, the aims involve research that is designed to yield insights into cancer and neurological processes with potential to enhance drug design efforts.Congratulations Lillian!
