North Carolina State University seeks talented candidates for two tenure track faculty positions in the Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science (TECS) within the College of Textiles. Enthusiasm for mentoring and advising students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected. We are particularly interested in candidates who are enthusiastic to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and are committed to improving access to higher education for students and faculty from underrepresented groups.
CHEMISTRY POSITION: Successful candidates will have a background or a strong interest in the chemistry of textiles, fibers, polymers, and/or dyes. Research experience in physical, physical organic, or synthetic chemistry is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in our Polymer & Color Chemistry (PCC) undergraduate program and our related graduate programs in Textile Chemistry (TC) and Fiber & Polymer Science (FPS), and to develop an active research program. ENGINEERING POSITION: The successful candidate is expected to have expertise in the area of Systems Modeling, Analytics, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and/or Information Systems, and to have interest in applying their expertise to the larger textile complex. Candidates should demonstrate strong potential for both teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Textile Engineering (TE) programs as well as our Ph.D. programs in Textile Technology Management (TTM) and/or Fiber & Polymer Science (FPS), and for establishing an active research program.
